59th WCCC – Highlights and Decisions

31 member countries were present.

WCCT: The 10th WCCT is running as scheduled. Country team leaders are expected to send in remarks by October 1st, 2016.

WCCI: Dmitry Turevsky will be the new spokesman of the committee.

FIDE Album: Theme indexers are expected to finish their work by the end of the year and the 2010-12 album is scheduled to be printed by the 2017 congress. Judging of the 2013-15 album is proceeding as planned.

It was agreed that the list of composers’ album points will be uploaded to the WFCC site (as a PDF file) and will be updated as necessary.

Éric Huber’s claim was found reasonable and his entry from WCCI may participate in the 2013-15 cycle of the album.

Studies: Yochanan Afek will be the new spokesman of the committee.

Solving: Roland Ott will be the new spokesman of the committee. Adjustments on the categories of the tournaments, registered for the World Solving Cup, were decided. The controller of the 2016-17 WSC will be Vidmantas Satkus.

It was agreed that solvers of the women, juniors and seniors categories with a current rating of 2100 / 2200 / 2300 have a wild card to participate in the WCSC and ECSC.

Computer Matters: Thomas Maeder will be the new spokesman of the committee. The committee will oversee and lead the discussion of shaping the final proposal to the Unicode Consortium.

Miscellanea: The report of the ethics task force was accepted will minor amendments. Suggestion of Germany regarding the wording in Annex III of the Statutes was also accepted.
