Announcement
The FIDE World Cup 2025 is organised in partnership with WFCC, the World Federation for Chess Composition.

- Twomovers (Marco Guida)
- Threemovers (Frank Reinhold)
- Moremovers (Kjell Widlert)
- Endgame studies (Michal Hlinka)
- Helpmates (Dmitri Turevski)
- Selfmates (Ivan Soroka)
- Heterodox problems (Vlaicu Crișan)
All compositions adhering to standard chess rules (i. e., no fairy conditions or pieces, b+w moving alternatingly, standard 8×8 chess board), but not in sections 1-6 or 9. For example hs#, reci-h#, =n, s=, hs=, reci-hs+, etc. - Fairies (Thomas Maeder)
Problems with fairy conditions or pieces, series movers, reflex problems, etc. - Retros and proof games (Richard Dunn)
Orthodox and fairies, retractors, A-to-B.
Note: A maximum of one problem per composer and section is allowed, no joint compositions. Submissions in LATEX, ASCII and PDF preferred.
Prize fund
In each section €120 / €60 / €30 for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed problems.
Schedule
- closing date: 31 May 2025
- judges’ awards to be sent to the director: 15 August 2025
- publication of preliminary awards: 31 August 2025
- deadline for claims: 30 September 2025
- publication of definite awards: 31 October 2025
