We updated the list of album points to include the results of the so far finalised sections of the 2016-18 album. The qualifications committee will prepare a report of the composing, solving and judging titles and submit it to the delegates for their approval. Stay tuned for further information.
FIDE ALBUM 2016-2018 – Results in section D
The results of the FIDE Album 2016-18 section D are ready!
771 studies scored at least 4,5 points (out of the totally submitted 909 entries), a very good percentage of 84,8%. The ratio of the 227 selected studies with 8+ points vs. the entries with 4,5+ points is 29,4%, which means that nearly one out of each three entries was successful. 59 entries had already qualified from the WCCI process. Kudos to the composers for submitting their highest quality works for review!

FIDE ALBUM 2016-2018 – Results in section E
The results of the FIDE Album 2016-18 section E are ready!
An impressive number of 2544 entries (incl. duplicates) were received and they were split in three groups: E1 for h#<=2, E2 for h#2,5 and h#3, and E3 for h#>3. The h#2s dominated once more. In each group there were three judges with each team of judges working independently. 2228 entries scored at least 4,5 points (87,6% of the total entries, a very good ratio for such a popular genre). 400 problems out of them (95 more compared to the previous album!) scored at least 8 points, which represents a reasonable ratio of 17,9% selected problems; of course the respective ratio varies in the three groups. Full statistics are given in the page of the results.

Update 17.10.2020: A h#2 (by Mladenović) was found to be anticipated and is removed from the list.
Update 23.10.2020: Four more h#2s (by Medintsev, Nastran, Packa, Zamanov) were found to be anticipated and are removed from the list.

8th FIDE World Cup in Composing 2020 – FINAL results
The FINAL Results of the 8th FIDE World Cup in Composing 2020 are published.
Statistics: 370 entries by 225 participants from 37 countries submitted.
Among them: #2 – 47, #3 – 38, #n – 36, studies – 56, h# – 81, s# – 48, fairies – 43, retro – 21.

Solvers’ ratings as of October 1st 2020 produced by the Solving Tournament Manager are published! 8 tournaments of the 3rd quarter 2020 are included: Open Solving Tournament Tula 2020, 4th Russian Women Chess Solving Cup 2020, 28th Czech Chess Solving Championship 2020, 28th Chess Solving Championship of Slovakia 2020, 41st Lithuanian Championship 2020, Open Solving Championship Tver Region 2020, Open of Russian Solving Championship 2020, 28th Championship of Russia 2020.
The top ten remain the same solvers but Dania Pavlov has lost two places. The largest three gain has again been achieved by junior solver Boris Chervonenkis (RUS / +49.27), ahead of junior solver Egor Sokolov (RUS / +39.61) and Mihail Ganzhin (RUS / +36.80).
